How To Get Rid of Eye Bags Without Surgery

People often say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Our eyes don’t lie. They show the truth, no matter what situation we are in. The eyes are often one of the first facial features we look at when we meet people for the first time. It can be particularly embarrassing for people who don't look after their eyes, especially if dark eye circles and eye bags become visible to others.

The skin around the eyes are extremely thin. With very little collagen and elastin fibers around the eyes, aging often occurs around the eyes first. First signs of aging typically occurs in the mid 20’s. This happens when the skin around the eyes becomes so loose that it hangs and creates folds around the eyes.

Sun exposure remains one of the leading causes of aging around the eyes. Exposure to the ultraviolet rays (UVA and UVB) can cause serious damage to the skin. UVB rays are known to break down the healthy DNA in your body. On the other hand, UVA rays penetrate deeply into the dermis to break down collagen and elastin fibers – which are key to maintaining firm skin and giving structure to a plump, tight skin. Over time, UVA rays potentially cause the skin to age prematurely, weakening the delicate skin around the eyes, weighing the fatty tissue under the eyes, causing eye bags and wrinkles to form.

A diet high in sodium may cause more water retention, causing the eyes to look more puffy and swollen.

How to Get Rid of Eye Bags Non-Surgically

Cosmetic surgery used to be the only option to get rid of eye bags. Although cosmetic surgery remains a viable option to eliminate eye bags, people are now contemplating non-surgical options because of the convenience and minimal risks and complications associated with the non-surgical treatment.

According to Dr. Siew Tuck Wah, one of the most prominent aesthetic doctors in Singapore, he said that doctors in Korea have discovered a new technique for non-surgical eye bag removal using AGNES. AGNES is a targeted treatment that uses a micro-needle to deliver radio frequency waves to break down the fatty tissue in the eye bag. Over the next few weeks, the excess fatty deposits will then drain out naturally via the body’s system.

In addition, the radio frequency waves help to stimulate the skin to produce more collagen and elastin fibers to tighten and firm loose skin. When the eye bags subside and the skin becomes tighter, the eyes will blend in with the rest of the facial features, restoring a more youthful look.

Tired-looking eyes can be attributed to a lack of volume around the eyes. Hollow, deficient areas under the eyes can sometimes cast a dark shadow, giving the illusion of dark eye circles. The appearance of wrinkles and fine lines may exacerbate the condition.

In such cases, adding volume to the under eyes to smoothen the area and immediately rejuvenate the under eyes. Doctors often use a wide range of hyaluronic acid fillers to fill the under eyes. Under eye fillers hydrate and stretches the skin and so that the eyes don’t appear too sunken.

In addition to dermal filler treatments, doctors may combine laser treatments to further improve the result. Dual Yellow Laser is an excellent laser treatment for dark eye circles. It helps to effectively reduce the hyperpigmentation and visible blood vessels under the skin. Unlike conventional laser treatments, Dual Yellow Laser penetrates deep into the skin layer without breaking the skin surface.  Dual Yellow Laser is currently one of the most advanced laser treatments for combating skin pigmentation and achieve skin brightening.
